i got some resently and i dont know much about them

yes. the skin taste terrible and it will leave a weird rough feeling on your tongue if you eat it. Peeling it is easy. All you do is pick a tiny hole in the skin and peel it like a banana and remember to only eat it if it's ripe or the rough feeling will go on your tongue. Unriped mangos are very sour.
